Industrial Photography

German based TRUMPF,  a specialist machine tool, laser and electronics manufacturer produce a customer magazine “TruServices Journal” highlighting the benefits of there tools to a variety of industries across the globe. In the midlands one company benefiting from several machines are Future Automation. I’m not 100% sure of everything they do, but they definitely construct electronic control boxes, and it doesn’t take long in their factory to see how effective the punching machine from Trumpf is and how much time it saves. These images were to show how faster jobs could be completed.

Cake me Baby

Australian catering equipment manufacturer Moffat contacted me to photograph one of their clients “Cake me Baby” for their magazine.  The West London cake shop has an amazing range of cakes and biscuits. Alessandra, the owner and creative drive behind Cake me Baby has created  a shop like no other, and edible creations with uncompromising quality, was a joy to see, and yes, I did sample a few.

Looking for a venue….

…in central London? One Morgate Place, 5 minutes from Liverpool Street, has everything from The Great Hall, to small modern meeting rooms, to the stunning Main reception room with its murals, columns and domed ceiling. Over several days I photographed most of these rooms, depicting them for different uses, dining, meeting and for conferences. My favourite area is in the dome, not normally open, but providing a great view of the room, a tight squeeze through arches and tiny staircases to get there, rewarded with the close up view of the amazing stained glass windows. These images are for a new website, coming soon in 2016.

Great way to start the year, a 2016 Calendar from VGC

My fantastic client VGC have just produced their 2016 Calendar, with all the images being ones shot by me! Thank you VGC. I have been working for them for several years, the boot of my car is full of their branded hats and Hi Viz so we always have their logo available. Over the last year we have been down the tunnels at Crossrail, chasing aeroplanes at Heathrow, and taking the new bridge across The Mersey.

VGC operate in all forms of civil engineering, roads, bridges, rail, nuclear…. and are one of the largest labour and staff suppliers to the UK construction industry. I’ve always been impressed by their professionalism and how helpful everyone has been, and look forward to doing more shoots in 2016.

Christmas Party….

….no, not the Michael Molloy Photography Ltd’s christmas bash, but one of my clients, a much bigger do. Have been to One Morgate Place several times this year photographing ICAEW’s amazing conference, dining and meeting rooms, so naturally was asked to show the rooms in use at christmas, not events photography as such, but to get images for use on their website.

These images are designed largely to be used as banners on web pages so decided to focus on the table decorations and have out of focus people in the background so not to distract from the text on the page.

Hill construction photography

London based construction company Hill Ltd have once again commissioned me to photograph on one of their sites. The images are for general use, not specifically to show the North London site. Shot in half a day the images feature Hill staff interacting with contractors, small portable lights were used, very useful in some of the dark areas on the building site.

DeWalt, second shoot.

dewalt-1

Following on from a shoot a month ago, new client DeWalt commissioned me to photograph more tradesmen using their professional range of drills and accessories. I guess the first set of photos went down well. I used portable lights to achieve the desired affect, being battery powered they much easier to use in situations where there is no mains electricity supply. Looking forward to doing more shoots with DeWalt, a great client.

The Cheesegrater

Service and virtual office company Servcorp asked me to photograph their new London location, The Leadenhall Building, better known as The Cheesegrater. Not an easy building to photograph as it is nestled in amongst the other skyscrapers in the city. I started from Monument, moving across the Thames, and then to Tower Bridge. Moving closer to the building a few views were possible from a small side street, which proved to be the best location for the shots. Looking forward to doing some interior office photography for this client in the near future.

Office Portraits

group

Corporate finance company Catalyst have employed me a few times in the past, for the odd portrait. But this time it was to photograph all their team for their new website. Each person was to be photographed individually, plus a couple of group shots, including the one above which is to have links to each person when rolled over on the website. Shots were taken at their Birmingham head office and their smaller office near Victoria.

Considerate Constructors Scheme

considerate-constructors-scheme-5

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a not for profit organisation set up to promote best practice in the construction industry. The scheme is involved in many areas of the industry, including environment, community relationships, and safety.

These images were shot over two days at three different sites in London. They should start appearing on hoardings at sites in the near future.
